The Executive Director duties include participating with the Board in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization; identifying, assessing, and informing the Board of internal and external issues that affect the organization; acting as a professional advisor to the Board on all aspects of the organization’s activities; fostering effective teamwork between the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff; conducting official correspondence on behalf of the Board as appropriate and jointly with the Board when appropriate; attending all Board meetings and reporting on the progress of the organization; and serving as an ex officio member of all standing committees. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for representing the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profile; developing and implementing a strategic plan to raise vital funds in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner; implementing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures that address risks associated with sensitive financial information, as well as the qualifications and backgrounds of persons working directly with children; and overseeing the hiring of administrative and educational staff, in tandem with the Education and Assistant Education Directors.
Qualifications
A candidate must possess a combination of experience and education
to successfully lead and manage the organization according to the strategic direction
set by the Board of Directors.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Work or a related field, or adequate relevant experience
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Management experience at a non-profit organization is preferred
